Single items typically run $75–$150; a few pieces $150–$350; a full-apartment clear-out $400–$1,200 depending on volume and stairs. Donation pickups of good furniture often price lower than disposal — ask for both numbers.
What can't you take?
Hazardous materials (paint, chemicals, propane), and anything DSNY legally requires special handling for is quoted case-by-case. Standard furniture, mattresses (bagged per NYC law), appliances, e-waste, and boxes of household goods are all routine.
Do you donate or dispose?
Donation can be requested when condition, recipient rules, and timing allow. Ask the partner to state the plan per item and provide a receipt when the receiving organization issues one. Worn or damaged pieces may require disposal.
