NYC Moving Pros

Out of your apartment. Not necessarily into a landfill.

Single item: $75–$150 · full apartment: $400–$1,200

Getting rid of things in NYC is its own job: DSNY has rules, donation centers have standards and waitlists, and nothing about a 4th-floor walk-up makes it easier. One crew, one visit: donatable furniture goes to charity partners (with a tax receipt), recyclables get recycled, and genuine junk gets hauled legally. Especially useful the week of a move — the cheapest thing to move is the thing you don't.

From inside your home, any floor

Not curbside pickup — the crew carries it out of the apartment, down the walk-up, past the doorman with the COI he requires. You point; it disappears.

Donation-first hauling

Couches, dressers, and tables in sellable condition go to donation partners instead of the dump — you get the receipt for tax season, and it's often cheaper than disposal.

Bundle with your move

Declutter pickup before packing, or a sweep of everything left behind after the truck departs. Same crew, one bill, and your landlord gets the broom-clean apartment your lease requires.

Common questions

What does junk removal cost in NYC?

Single items typically run $75–$150; a few pieces $150–$350; a full-apartment clear-out $400–$1,200 depending on volume and stairs. Donation pickups of good furniture often price lower than disposal — ask for both numbers.

What can't you take?

Hazardous materials (paint, chemicals, propane), and anything DSNY legally requires special handling for is quoted case-by-case. Standard furniture, mattresses (bagged per NYC law), appliances, e-waste, and boxes of household goods are all routine.

Do you donate or dump?

Donate when condition allows — it's stated per item in the quote. You get the receipt. Honest caveat: charities decline worn or damaged pieces, so 'donatable' means genuinely resellable.
