Planning ranges, not quotes. Your inventory, access, dates, service level, and the carrier's written estimate determine the real number.

What to know about this route

Atlanta is the Southeast's distribution hub, so trucks run constantly and pricing is among the most competitive per mile out of NYC. Intown neighborhoods with narrow streets (Virginia-Highland, Inman Park) may need a shuttle truck on delivery — ask up front.

Getting a real quote

Long-distance pricing is set by inventory (what's actually on the truck), not square footage — so a real quote requires a video or in-home survey. Any mover who gives you a firm number in a five-minute phone call is giving you a number that will change. Ask the mover who would transport the shipment to survey the inventory and put the estimate type and price in writing. For interstate moves, request the USDOT number and verify the carrier's authority and insurance with FMCSA before booking.

Dedicated or consolidated?

Dedicated truck

Tighter delivery control

Your shipment travels without other households sharing the truck. It usually costs more, but can support a specific or narrower delivery commitment.

Consolidated load

Lower price, wider window

Several shipments share capacity. This can reduce cost, especially for smaller moves, but pickup and delivery spreads are normally wider.

Put the choice in writing. Ask which model the quote assumes, whether transfers or warehouse handling are expected, and what delivery commitment appears in the carrier's contract.

Carrier verification checkpoint

NYC Moving Pros does not transport household goods or issue the carrier's estimate. Before booking, identify the company that will take possession of the shipment and verify its federal record.
